Engineer rolled up with a pile of boxes and having confirmed that the problem was with the upper scanner proceeded to swap the top section of the printer with a new one. Half an hour later all is sorted and we are getting clean scans again. Now to get stuck into the last couple of hundred Model Engineer magazines now that I only need to run them through once.

First batch of recycling
Having worked through all the A4/3 sized magazines I realised that the last batch had a shadow line across the back pages of the scan caused by dirt on the scanner. I should have been checking the quality a little more often. It was not a major problem, but with my plans to dispose of the originals I knew it would annoy me latter, so that batch of 50 has been rescanned. Having been recalled to prison for a 'breach of licence conditions for which there was no evidence', I completed the whole of the prison sentence inside and was finally released back in May.
