Taig MPS2000 MaxNC mode on Mach3
Quick dump of information from a recent email relating to running the original Taig/Microproto controller with Mach3. This is limited to just using three axies as the fourth axis is on the unsupported second parallel port. The installation of the Step and Direction board to the controller will restore four axies, but if this is not required then the MaxNC mode works nicely.
http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mach1mach2cnc/conversations/topics/56999 is a forum article on the MaxNC mode which is what we need to use for the older Taig controller. I was convinced I'd something on my own website, but it looks like it was a casualty of a problem when 1&1 was providing my hosting. Some stuff got lost moving over because of the hopeless support
ftp://machsupport.com/Extra%20Information/maxnc.GIF is the pinout for reference. and

has all the notes ...
ftp://anonymous:guest@machsupport.com/XMLs/Mach3Taig2000.xml SHOULD provide a lot of the setup that you need to get started, but is for the Step and Direction board. It should give you the right steps per and speeds, but you need to follow the guide to switch over to MaxNC mode.
Notes will be expanded as details are verified, and copies of the related material will be stored locally.
