Welcome
Welcome to the Model Engineers Digital Workshop
Having been out of circulation for a number of years eventually serving the whole of the sentence period in prison, I'm not quite sure today just where to go with a lot of my previous projects. To add to the picture, my son James was killed by a drugged/drunk driver in August last year which puts even more pressure on things. James had been looking after my property such as the MEDW stock and had moved it around as the first storage unit at Enstone Airfield had it's use of that site withdrawn. Following a move to a storage unit near Oxford, a lot of things went missing including all of my 45mm gauge locomotives and nearly all the carriages. The storage company liquidated before the matter could be addressed and a third move was required at short notice. Throckmorton airfield provided the home for what remained and it was still there when I was finally released in May this year. To add to the fun, the provider gave me 4 weeks notice to get everything out "because of my criminal record". A daily trip to the recycling center saw a lot of material simply tipped and downsizing was somewhat erratic, but a 40ft container was emptied and what was left is now with me here or in a garage which is costing a quarter of the cost of the container, so in some ways a good push to help me out. There is no power at the garage unit which was also a problem at the Throckmorton. The previous two sites did have power which it seems is unusual and perhaps contributed to that providers demise.
I have kept some key elements to one side as I was moving stuff around, so I have some finished DivisionMaster units along with a stock of PCB's and a dozen cases. Now I need to extract the components to build some more up, which was part of the reason for getting this website back up again so I can access things like the parts list and other bits. Yes, I could have found them somewhere on the computers I have been left with by the police, but the one I HAD all of this sorted on was seized a few weeks back as they did not like a couple of historic images. The discussion had been, up to that point, just how do I clean out images which MAY now be illegal. That this was not sorted back in 2020 is down to my being convinced that pleading guilty would allow James to get the business computers back. Complete bullshit as others have also found. It is not only the postmasters who were shafted, and the same problems still go on every day today. I am on a list awaiting the Legal Ombudsman's investigation into the mistakes in my recall to prison. Current quoted processing date is some time towards the end of NEXT year. I'm not a priority as I'm now out of prison, but the simple fact that I should not have been recalled seems irrelevent to the justic system?
So my plan going forward is to sort out just what I have available, get it into a saleable condition and offer it here.
In the short term I am concentrating on jobs that I can safely complete such has reducing my boxes full of magazines to free space. To that end the Model Engineers Library is a work in progress and I will document that progress as I go.
