Cadogan Garden Dry Build
The Dolls House Emporium Cadogan Gardens Demo

This project started as a birthday and Christmas present back in 2004 and while a start was made on the basement few years back, it has essentially been in storage since. It is perhaps a little larger than I had anticipated, and will possibly need a custom table to mount it on as the basement front section needs to be able to slide out to view the lowest rooms. I have managed to complete a dry build of both parts, and they are sitting on the floor, and I am now trying to decide on the next steps. Also in storage are a lot of accessories such as figures and furniture and I need to sort those out and decide on the style of rooms within the various rooms. I had been considering how to document the build with options such as a video diary on Youtube, but looking at such material from other projects I think that it may detract from the actual build process. Dragonfly Miniatures has been running a build diary specifically on the Cadogan Gardens kit which started 2 years ago but it has been 9 months since the last post, and she is still only working on the basement. I have downloaded all of her videos which have contributed to my own approach to the next steps on my own build.

The picture build diary will develop as I address things and I will create additional pages on specific areas as I progress. I am currently trying to decide just what products to use to decorate the outside of the building. While originally I had planned on using materials such as imitation bricks and roof tiles, as Dragonfly has pointed out, the basic building is already a substantial weight and adding these products in the volume required will make the house even more difficult to move around.

Something to aim for is the completed model on The Old Corn Mill Antiques & Collectables site for which they are asking £1795 ... The only thing that I think lets it down is the lack of any detail on the stairwell given the parts included in the kit. While they are going to be a fiddle, I am looking at taking time in completing that area and carpeting the stairs.
